Meow Wolf launched the inaugural Vortex Festival in Denver in August 2022, anchored by a two-stage platform that needed to start strong and evolve through a multi-year run.

Radia designed and built both stages. Reflective materials and a bright palette let the structures interact with sunlight by day and glow at night. The Arā (main) Stage took the shape of an opulent beetle and a galaxy — internally known as the ‘Altar of the Galaxies’ — while the Atriā (DJ) Stage echoed a decaying greenhouse with mind-altering moments tucked into the structure. Both were engineered modularly so the studio could re-imagine them across future Vortex builds.
